Granada continues to strengthen its position as a technological benchmark with the upcoming opening of the Artificial Intelligence Center of Andalusia, scheduled for November 2025 (coinciding with the III Congress of AI in Andalusia). This initiative represents a decisive step in the digital transformation of our region and promises to boost the local technological ecosystem, placing Andalusia at the forefront of technological innovation at European level.
A European reference center for Grenada
With a strategic investment of 3.5 million euros in infrastructure and an additional 36 million euros for case studies, the Artificial Intelligence Center will be located in the Health Technology Park, in the building formerly occupied by the Fernando de los Ríos Consortium. This location is no coincidence: the proximity to the University of Granada, internationally recognized for its excellence in artificial intelligence and data science research, will enhance synergies between academia and business.
The center was born with a clear vision: to democratize access to artificial intelligence for small and medium-sized Andalusian companies, which until now have encountered significant barriers to adopting these disruptive technologies. This initiative promises to transform the region’s business fabric, providing tools and knowledge that until now were mainly within the reach of large corporations.

Innovation on the move: 65 AI use cases in Andalusia
A noteworthy aspect is that the center will coordinate and deploy the 65 Artificial Intelligence use cases that are already in operation at the Junta de Andalucía. This previous experience demonstrates the firm commitment of the Andalusian administration to digital transformation and lays the groundwork for an even greater expansion of these technologies. Among the most outstanding cases we find:
- Virtual Health Assistant: An AI system that revolutionizes Andalusian healthcare management, facilitating the scheduling of medical appointments and providing personalized healthcare information. This assistant not only improves the accessibility and efficiency of the Andalusian healthcare system, but also significantly reduces waiting times and optimizes the distribution of healthcare resources. Initial results show a 30% reduction in appointment management time and a 45% improvement in user satisfaction.
- Forest Fire Prediction: An innovative platform that uses machine learning algorithms to analyze meteorological data, vegetation and other risk factors in real time. The system processes information from more than 500 weather stations and sensors distributed throughout Andalusia, enabling better fire prevention and management in our forests. This technology has demonstrated an 85% accuracy in predicting high-risk areas, allowing a more efficient distribution of prevention resources.
- Intelligent Employment System: A revolutionary tool that optimizes the job search and placement process, using AI to better connect the skills of candidates with the needs of Andalusian companies. The system analyzes more than 50 different variables for each professional profile and has managed to increase the successful placement rate by 40% in its first months of operation.
A promising future for innovation
The center’s infrastructure will be complemented by a space for Innovation in Exponential Technologies, which will make Granada the epicenter for research and development in quantum computing in Andalusia. This initiative is part of the ambitious Quantum Project, with an additional investment of two million euros, developed in collaboration with technology giants such as IBM and Ayesa. The combination of artificial intelligence and quantum computing opens up unprecedented possibilities for research and technological development in the region.
Structure and comprehensive services
The Artificial Intelligence Center of Andalusia is called to be a fundamental catalyst for the digital transformation of our region. Its service structure, organized into five major functional blocks that are developed in 20 specific lines, guarantees comprehensive attention to the needs of all sectors. From specialized training to the development of customized solutions, the center will act as a bridge between the most advanced technology and the real needs of local administrations, citizens, companies and academia.
This initiative not only positions Granada as a technological hub of reference, but also lays the foundations for a future where artificial intelligence is an accessible and beneficial tool for the whole of Andalusian society. The center represents a firm commitment to innovation and sustainable development, promising to generate a positive impact on the economy and the quality of life of the citizens of our region.
From Montevive.AI, we support this great initiative and we will be happy to help, to be an active part of this stage of disruptive digital transformation.
