June 4, 2025 marked a special date in the history of Montevive.ai. We participated in the final of the XII University Entrepreneurship Contest organized by UGR Emprendedora, an experience that not only allowed us to make our project visible, but also reinforced our commitment to innovation and the development of Granada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The XII University Entrepreneurship Contest: A showcase of exceptional talent

UGR Emprendedora, the General Coordination of Entrepreneurship of the University of Granada, has consolidated over the years one of the most prestigious startup competitions of the Spanish university scene. In its twelfth edition, this contest has brought together the most promising projects arising from university talent, with the support of important institutions such as Banco Santander, the Chamber of Commerce of Granada, the Social Council of the UGR and Escoem, in addition to the support of the Granada 2031 candidacy.

Although the winners of the competition have not yet been officially announced, we can say without a doubt that we are all winners. The level of the startups we had the opportunity to meet during the finals was simply incredible. The quality of the projects presented, the innovation in their proposals and the preparation of the entrepreneurial teams demonstrate the extraordinary pool of talent at the University of Granada.

The event, which took place at the facilities of BREAKER – the entrepreneurship center of the University of Granada – has become an unmissable event for those seeking to transform innovative ideas into viable business projects. With more than 600 square meters dedicated to fostering creativity and entrepreneurial collaboration, BREAKER provides the perfect setting for startups to present their proposals to a specialized jury and an audience committed to innovation.

Montevive.ai: Pioneers in safe and accessible AI for everyone

Our participation in this competition represents a key moment in Montevive.ai’s development. As a startup specializing in secure artificial intelligence solutions, we have had the opportunity to present our revolutionary approach to an ecosystem that values both technological innovation and social and economic impact.

At Montevive.ai, we are solving one of the great challenges of our time: how to harness the power of cutting-edge AIs like ChatGPT without compromising the security of our enterprise data. We are currently developing an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that will enable enterprises to use ChatGPT and other next-generation artificial intelligences in a completely secure way, while maintaining full control over their sensitive data.

This differentiated approach addresses a growing concern in the business world: while everyone recognizes the transformative potential of tools like ChatGPT, many organizations are constrained by security policies that prohibit the use of cloud services to process sensitive information. Our MVP is designed to remove this barrier, creating a secure bridge that allows you to leverage the capabilities of these revolutionary AIs without putting enterprise confidentiality at risk.

An extraordinary level: The competence that lifts everyone up

During the final of the competition, we had the opportunity to meet truly exceptional projects. Startups such as Datharsis, specialized in data collection strategies and advanced analytics, demonstrated the quality and diversity of the entrepreneurial talent emerging from the University of Granada. Each presentation was a masterclass in innovation, business model and strategic vision.

What impressed us most was the maturity of the projects presented. These were not simply university ideas, but real business proposals with real scalability potential. This concentration of high-level technological projects not only augurs a promising future for the sector in the region, but has also motivated us to raise our own standards even higher.

The sectoral diversity of the proposals – from artificial intelligence to biotechnology, from sustainability solutions to social technology – demonstrates that the University of Granada is training entrepreneurs capable of tackling the great challenges of our time from multiple perspectives.

Secure AI: The silent revolution that is transforming businesses.

During our presentation at the competition, we were able to explain why secure AI represents the future of enterprise adoption of these technologies. While early implementations of generative AI were characterized by a “trial and error” approach with public cloud services, enterprises are evolving towards models that prioritize security without sacrificing capabilities.

Our MVP for the secure use of ChatGPT and other AIs is being developed with architectures that ensure that:

  • The data never leaves the company’s security perimeter.
  • Queries are processed anonymously and encrypted
  • Full traceability of all interactions maintained
  • Users can access latest AI versions without compromising internal policies

This approach not only solves security issues, but also opens the door to previously unthinkable business use cases. Departments such as legal, finance and human resources, traditionally reluctant to use external AI because of the sensitivity of their data, can now benefit from these transformative technologies.

Granada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem: A favorable environment for innovation

The experience in the UGR Emprendedora competition has allowed us to confirm the strength of Granada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Granada is positioning itself as a technological hub of reference in southern Spain, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The proximity of initiatives such as aiMPULSA – Granada’s AI ecosystem supported by institutions such as the University of Granada, the City Council, the Provincial Council and the Andalusian Regional Government – creates a synergistic environment that favors the development of innovative technological projects.

This ecosystem not only provides resources and institutional support, but also generates a critical mass of talent and knowledge that benefits all stakeholders. The presence of high-quality startups, top researchers and innovative companies creates a virtuous circle that attracts investment, talent and collaboration opportunities.

A track record of awards that endorses our growth

Participation in the XII University Entrepreneurship Competition adds to a series of important milestones we have reached in recent months. Our selection for the El Carmen Incubator, managed by Telefónica through Wayra in collaboration with the Diputación de Granada, has given us access to an intensive eight-month program with specialized mentoring and direct connection to Telefónica’s global innovation ecosystem.

In addition, our recognition as a finalist in the Early Bird category of the Alhambra Venture 2025 has validated the potential of our business model and our value proposition in the artificial intelligence market. These recognitions are not just awards; they represent the confidence of institutions and experts in our vision of making AI more accessible and secure for businesses.

The future of enterprise AI: Secure, accessible and transformative

The experience in the UGR Emprendedora competition has reinforced our conviction that the future of business artificial intelligence lies in solutions that combine technological power with absolute security. Companies are increasingly aware of the risks of relying on external services to process their most sensitive data, but they also recognize that they cannot afford to be left behind in the adoption of AI.

Our MVP represents a technological answer to this apparent contradiction. By enabling the secure use of ChatGPT and other advanced AIs, we are democratizing access to these transformative technologies without compromising the security principles that are fundamental to any serious organization.

The Montevive.ai team, led by Chema Robles as CEO, Rubén Sánchez as CTO and Data Scientist, and Rubén Lucena as Data Engineer, provides the experience and technical knowledge necessary to develop solutions that truly transform business processes while maintaining the highest security standards.

A special thank you to the ecosystem that drives us

We would like to express our sincere thanks to UGR Emprendedora for creating a space where entrepreneurial talent can flourish. The organization of events such as this contest not only makes innovative projects visible, but also fosters an entrepreneurial culture that is fundamental for the economic and social development of our region.

The quality of the event, the professionalism of the organization and the level of the participating projects make competitions like this one a benchmark for Spanish university entrepreneurship. Regardless of the official results, all participants have been enriched by this experience.

We would also like to thank all the sponsoring institutions – Banco Santander, Chamber of Commerce of Granada, Social Council of the UGR, Escoem and Granada 2031 – for their commitment to university entrepreneurship. Their support makes it possible for initiatives like ours to access resources, mentoring and visibility that are crucial in the early stages of a startup’s development.

Looking ahead: The next steps of Montevive.ai

Participation in the XII University Entrepreneurship Competition marks a before and after in our trajectory. The contacts established, the lessons learned and the feedback received provide us with a solid foundation to accelerate the development of our MVP and its subsequent commercialization.

We are in a crucial phase of development of our product for the secure use of ChatGPT and other AI. The next few months will be critical to complete proof-of-concepts, validate the business model with pilot customers and prepare for the commercial launch of this revolutionary solution.

Our recent webinar “The Holy Grail of AI: Advanced Chatbots and voicebots in Administrative Management”, organized in collaboration with the AI Granada Research & Innovation Foundation and the Granada Chamber of Commerce, has confirmed the market interest in these technologies and has provided us with valuable insights on the specific needs of our potential customers.

Conclusion: Win-win in building the future

The experience in the XII UGR Emprendedora University Entrepreneurship Contest has been tremendously enriching. Beyond any recognition that might come, the real victory has been to be part of an ecosystem of startups of exceptional level and contribute to the development of a more secure and accessible technological future.

At Montevive.ai we remain committed to our mission of democratizing access to cutting-edge AI without compromising security. Our MVP for the secure use of ChatGPT and other AI represents a fundamental step towards a future where enterprises can harness the transformative power of these technologies without fear of compromising their most valuable data.

The road has just begun, but with the support of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Granada, the inspiring quality of our fellow entrepreneurs and the trust of institutions such as UGR Emprendedora, we are confident that Montevive.ai will continue to grow and add value to the Spanish and international technology sector.
